Come hear the stories and celebrate the challenges surpassed by the newly initiated young men. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear the firsthand experience of our initiated community members and get an embodied experience of what Cascadia Quest is all about.
This will also be a community potluck. So bring an ample dish to share, your own eating and serving implements, and an appetite for nourishing, sacred ceremony. There will be plenty of people available to answer your questions if you are new. Bring your friends and family.
Join us at Elijah Bristow State Park (Ash picnic area) from 12pm - 5pm!
Elijah Bristow State Park is about nine miles east on Hwy 58, off of Rattlesnake Rd. The turn off is on the north side of the highway. It is right before Dexter Reservoir. The Ash picnic area is at the very end of the driveway into the park. It is the second to last picnic area, before Cedar Picnic area. Find a map of Elijah Bristow here. Ash is at the site marked "group picnicking areas". Vehicle parking is free.
There are bathrooms, running potable water, and picnic tables. The picnic area is in the shade. We will bring extra tables.
Potluck items to share (there is no refrigeration there so bring a cooler if needed).
Your own plates, bowls, silverware, serving spoons, cups, etc.
Blanket, chair, or cushion (to sit on during storytelling)
Elijah Bristow is beautiful! Lots of trails to walk, a river, and wildlife. Maybe you'll want to go for an easy hike before or after. Enjoy this wonderful park.
Invite your family, friends, and all of those who are interested in the work of rites of passage and vision fast.
